Trying to Stay Calm...

A little hiccup hit us recently and we're currently without a venue, to say the stress has overtaken everything is a slight understatement. For almost a week now I've been going through google searches, photographer's posts with venue lists, searched Facebook and every other method I can think of to find a venue that'll fit all of the things that we want. We're currently waiting to hear back from a place with so much potential but there's another 2 weeks before we even find out if we can book it.




This would all be fine if we hadn't had everything planned in July last year and are now scrambling to sort something with just over a year before our wedding was supposed to take place.

Venues in Auckland want far too much money for their properties, the other day I was quoted $7,000NZD for a barn and that's just ridiculous! I know that they're businesses and such but just to have a roof over our head if it rains is not worth it.

There's always the option of paying to use a local council owned park, but Auckland's weather can be totally unpredictable and what are we meant to say when 130 guests have no where to sit and end up soaked?

I'm still waiting to hear back from a few venues but it honestly feels like I've seen them all at this point.

Maybe we'll be able to have a friend or family member suggest someone's house to rent... We'll see!

Regardless of this stress, I'm so excited by the potential that our wedding has. We're hoping it turns out to be a day to remember and something that'll have everyone smiling. It just doesn't help when you're an overly impatient person who would quite like to have everything organised yesterday...
